Tuesday-

Topics:  Objectives for Ch. 11 (Career and Taxes); become familiar with Ch. 11 vocab

Activities:  Students will define the vocabulary for Ch. 11.  Due by the end of class.

Wednesday-

Topics:  Self-assessment, Identifying your personal strengths and weaknesses, building your brand

Activities: Discuss learning objectives for section 1; students to do measure your progress; video 1.1, note fill-ins and journal question; Discussion questions:  1.  What are some important things to focus on when choosing a career? 2.  What are some good ways to find out if a career is right for you? 3.  What are some of your personal strengths and weaknesses?  Video 1.2, note fill-ins and journal question; Discussion questions:  1.  What is Jon’s advice for dealing with your “negative voices”? 2.  What is personal branding?

Thursday-

**Sophomore English STAAR test**  If you are not a sophomore, bring something to work on today.

Friday-

Topics:  DISC and Career match

Activities:  Video 1.3, note fill-ins and journal question; Discussion questions:  1.  Marcus Buckingham says that just being good at something alone does not make it a strength.  You also must have what?  2.  Based on the DISC Personality Profile, what attributes does a person with a “stabilizing” characteristics have?  Students will complete DISC profile survey on computer. Discuss.

Activities:  Students will participate in Kahoot review game.  Top 3 scorers will receive 5 bonus points on their test.

Activities:  Ch. 10 Test (Money and Relationships)

Wednesday-

Topics:  Test results

Activities:  Students will receive their Ch. 10 Test results; time for questions/corrections

Thursday-

Early release- District UIL being held at White Oak

Topics:  Understanding your money personality

Activities:  Discuss learning objectives; students to do measure your progress; video 1.1, note fill-ins and journal question; Discussion questions:  1.  How do a person’s values affect the way in which he or she handles money? 2.  Are you a natural saver or spender? Explain.  Homework:  Interview someone from parents or grandparent’s generation using given questions.  Completed interview due Friday.

Wednesday-

Topics:  Marriage and Money

Activities:  Video 2.1, note fill-ins, journal question; Discussion questions:  1.  In a marriage, who is supposed to do the financial decision making?  2.  In a marriage, besides telling your money what to do, what else does having a budget accomplish?  Activity:  “Creating Debating”

Thursday-

Topics:  Communication is Key

Activities:  Video 3.1, note fill-ins, journal question; Discussion questions:  1. What are some important guidelines to remember when communicating with others about money?  2.  Why is it important to communicate with other household members about money?

Friday-

Topics:  Review of Chapter material

Activities:  Interview homework due/ Discuss;  Students will then complete the Ch. 10 Money in review using their notes.  If don’t finish in class, for homework.
