Monday-

Signed progress reports due for extra 100 in gradebook.

Tuesday-

SAT bootcamp. Students need to bring something to read or work on.

Wednesday-

Topics: Saving:  An exercise in character

Activities:  Video 1.1, note fill-ins, and journal question; class discussion;  Students to be divided into groups.  They will be instructed to read passage “Are Americans Good Savers?”  They are to discuss and answer the following questions in their groups and be ready to share with the class:  1. Explain what is wrong in this cause/effect relationship in Americans’ money saving behavior.  2.  What should be the cause of one’s money saving habits?  3.  How is it that Americans are able to save a larger percentage of their income when the economy is weak, unemployment is high, and incomes are generally lower?

Thursday-

Topics:  Three Basic Reasons to Save Money

Activities:  Video 2.1, note fill-ins, and journal question; class discussion; Students to then complete the “Savings by Nation” questions using calculator and Internet;  students to share findings with the class

Friday-

Topics:  Three Basic Reasons to Save Money (continued)

Activities:  Videos 2.2 and 2.3 and note fill-ins. Class discussion. Students to then complete the “Sinking Fund Savings” activity .
